Food and drinks are the most important aspect of any party more so for Thanksgiving party. The food and snack are available in variety and to decide what to serve and what to leave out is a decision, which is hard to make.
If you are planning to have children at the party you will be giving lots of importance to kids menu and. If there is a mixed of children and adults then the menu should be mixture of both.
You have to decide whether you are going to make your own food or using the catering service. This in turn raises a question how many guests have you invited. The decision on what to serve as a snack and what will be the main course relies entirely on you. The menu should be planned in such a way that everyone will enjoy the food.
If it is a only kids party then you have to keep in mind the food which kids like to have and will enjoy, you can have snacks like, fries, cheese crackers, or chips which is an all time favorite of all the kids.
If the party you have planned is a formal Thanksgiving party, or the casual one, the menu will be according to the party, which may include different types of salad, different meats, fish etc and also if it is an adult party you will have to provide with the drinks. The drinks should be planned and you will have to keep different types of drinks to suit every guest. If it is a Thanksgiving Party, more traditional dish like Turkey should be there and you need some more dishes like potatoes, etc.
Now you have planned what to food, snacks and drinks you are going to keep. However, from where is your going to buy the same should also be planned. You will need many drinks like, wines, whisky, soda’s etc and to get all at a time will be a good idea.
As regards the food if you are planning to make the same at home, you will need the ingredients and that should be planned. Alternatively, if you are planning a catering service you need to work with them on the menu. However, if you want to be adventurous, you can wait until the last minute, wherein the stores offer discounts on party foods, snacks and drinks.
